Position: General Sales Manager

Reports to: General Manager

Positions Summary: The General Sales Manager role is responsible for achieving or exceeding market revenue goals and lead the development of members of the sales team in broadcast, digital and events. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Lead and prepare for weekly sales meetings

· Attend meetings with Media Consultants with their clients 

· Create and execute revenue generating sales ideas for broadcast, digital and events divisions 

· Daily usage of software programs to measure overall revenue growth and Media Consultants progress 

· Lead, manage and hold accountable Media Consultants 

· Own financial metrics of the sales department including pricing inventory, expense management, weekly revenue, pacing and forecasting 

· Exude passion, energy and enthusiasm about Leighton Media and opportunities for business within our company to help clients achieve their business goals 

Qualifications: 

· Experience as a proven sales leader in the role of account executive or higher 

· Comprehension of overall broadcast marketing opportunities including digital and events 

· Strong communication skills 

· Proficiency in Microsoft 360 Office Suite required 

Pay Range $100k - $120k

Leighton Media Media Consultant establishes and maintain marketing partnerships with area businesses and develop creative ad campaigns & promotions to increase their business. In this role, you’ll work alongside a small team of other Media Consultants to achieve market goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Seek out new clients and grow existing client accounts.
  • Assist Sales Manager with budget planning and sales projections.
  • Attend weekly team meetings and provide progress updates.
  • Utilize existing software programs for sales management, revenue order entry, and project management.
  • Achieve monthly sales goals and annual revenue targets.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of sales experience.

Leighton Media in Winona, Minnesota is looking for a reliable person to add to our on-air team as Program Director on our music station KG-95.3 FM. This is a great local station and an excellent opportunity for a fun weekday show. However, you’ll need to be social and digital savvy as well. You'll also need to learn other duties that help the entire team of four stations with nearly twenty people on staff.

Responsibilities:

    • Prepare for and host a live on-air show Monday through Friday while also reporting on severe weather.
    • Update social media platforms with contests, promotions and more while following existing brand standards.
    • Work with Music Master on a daily basis to schedule music.
    • 1-hour of production and voice tracking weekly.
    • Troubleshoot and problem-solve transmitter issues.
    • Attend weekly team meetings and provide progress updates.
    • Utilize existing processes and software programs to manage contests and promotions.
    • Host remote broadcasts as required.
    • Meet BMI requirements on a quarterly basis.
    • Exude passion, energy and enthusiasm about Leighton Broadcasting.
    • Strong communication & organizational skills.
    • Experience utilizing Microsoft 365 Office Suite and Adobe Audition is preferred.
    • Ability to cover weekend shifts if needed.
